Are they worth it? For me, Yes. If you play on hard ground with very little give, they are better then the FG sole for spreading the pressure, and with shorter studs you get lower on the ball for better control. The leather is soft and gives good feel and touch, there is a noticable difference with the "powerpulse" weight in the soles, and they are lighter with these soles removed (spare lightweights provided). You probably could live with the Absolion and not miss too much, but few of Adidas boots have the TRX HG sole, esp in Mens sizes, most of the other choices seem to be synthetic uppers which is not so good for hot climates (95F or more).
The only thing I could liken them to would be a pair of Puma King moulded studs where the studs are worn down and you can play on astroturf in them too. In conclusion, if you play on well watered pitches there is a lot more choice against the TRX FG for as much as $80-$120 less, but for the baked summer ground of the west and south west these fit the bill for me.

Yes, they are expensive compared to other cleats.
Are they worth it? Sure are. If youve ever worn a predator, youll understand.
I had a pair of the previous generation predators that lasted for 18 months with daily use. They finally gave out and the seams started coming apart on the side. It seems this was a side effect of the sole sliding off to a side (happened in both shoes) while in use, which was the only problem I had with them.
With this new gen shoe, the soles wont move due to the "powerpulse" underneath them. I dont buy into the whole powerpulse gives you more power thing - but I do like that powerpulse inset fixes the sliding issue the previous years soles had.
I should also mention - I have never before had a shoe that fit this well when worn for the first time. Even the last pair of predators I had took a little bit of time to wear in, and they were excellent by most standards. Ive had great cleats before, but this pair really takes the cup.
