I think Im done buying gloves at the local soccer shop. Im a bit of a cheapskate with gloves since they tend to wear out fairly quickly, so I get the $25 Jako brand or whatever. These Adidas gloves are WAY better--the grip is improved, they fit better, etc. Its obviously a much nicer piece of equipment and Amazon apparently has gloves on sale all the time. Id certainly come back to these. On: 2006-07-20
nice grip, gave some good saves so far, just wish, like all gloves, that they wouldnt tear up so quickly, definitely will buy another when these wear out. On: 2006-03-25
I have made a hobby out of buying gloves and trying them. I am sure that I will never have just one favorite glove, but the Adidas Clima has become a favorite of mine. For starters, I like the fit. I have rather "bulky" hands, and I like gloves that are snug but not tight, especially around the wrists, as I have large wrists. The Clima fits all of my desires as far as the fit of a glove. The palm is incredible. The ES4 foam is far better than the ES3. It offers a consistantly good grip when dry and is even better when damp. My only complain about the palm is that my right hand glove developed a tear at the bottom toward the wrist. However, I wear my gloves tightly around the wrist, and I believe this led to the palm failure. Still, even with the modest tear the glove remains fully functional.
There are many gloves from many manufactures, and I will never come close to trying them all. However, I think Adidas Clima ES4 is a glove worthy of use by fine goalkeepers. It is reasonably priced, performs well, and should withstand a decent amount of playing before it needs to be retired.
