Honest , Direct but a bit one-dimensional     On: 2008-02-09

Ill come clean. Im a Leeds United fan, so my natural instinct was to burn this book. I didnt. I read it, and enjoyed it. You feel you are listening to a straight shooter. Its a much better read than some of the tosh put out by ex-Leeds players. Sure, he has a persecution complex, but hes Irish. It comes with the territory. Since Keane fell out with Sir Alex and left Man United hes risen in stature. And if Leeds can hire Denis Wise, then they can certainly hire Roy Keane.....after walks out on Sunderland in a couple of years..
KEANO! KEANO!     On: 2007-06-28

I could not put this book down, well written and a great insight into the heart of a true Manchester United warrior.
More Keane     On: 2007-03-06

Having followed football for a few years and being familar with Mr. Keanes antics on and off the pitch, I thought this was going to be a little more entertaining. It was a very good read, but I cant imagine the author is this drab. He is an Irishman!
Honest Account.     On: 2006-07-19

I like Manchester United and Keane so am biased, but this is a worthwhile read for anyone interested in what goes on behind the scenes and United and in the thoughts of someone whose behavior has been so "interesting" over the years. Keane gives a "warts and all" description of his career and behavior.
Tell it Like it Is, But Tell More !!     On: 2006-05-09

I like Roy Keane..He is direct, explosive and successful without possessing the sublime skills of Best or Cantona. The book is written in the same direct style as his playing. He tells it straight but is lacking in detail. You get a glimpse of the man without really ever getting inside his head. He shares the highs and lows (and even his first salary with Man. Utd.)...but lacks the capacity to captivate the reader like a good biography should. Most of what is in here, you already know...Interesting glimpses of life as a successful sportsperson but lacking the cutting edge that he delivers on the football pitch...
Direct, like Keano plays!     On: 2005-08-24

This book is a candid look inside Roy Keanes thoughts. He freely shares what he thinks about the game, opposing players, teamates, and many other subjects.

Keane has been criticized for writing this book because he is blunt in his assesments of people and situations. However, this is the strength of the book, because if Keane had watered it down to be "PC," then the reader wouldnt hear what Keane really thinks.

Nobody will agree with all of Keanes thoughts, that is a given, but it is interesting to see his development as a player and person. This book provides the football fan with a glimpse into the mind of a superstar, and whether you like Roy Keane or not, it is a very good read that is enjoyable and insightful.
Long time football fan...     On: 2005-08-20

Excellent read. Very direct. Inspiring too, reading of how hard Roy Keane has worked to achieve his success. I especially enjoyed his frankness on the Irish international team and the useless managers theyve had. Well recommended to me by Four Four Two magazine.
Stick to the Football!     On: 2005-06-23

Whilst no doubting Roy Keanes ability on a football pitch, I was left extremely disappointed with this book.

The book charts through his life from growing up in Mayfield all the way through to Saipan. This would appear to give enough scope to learn something new about the man, but in keeping with his image, the book lets nothing slip. It is a very safe book with few insights into his thoughts apart from the obvious - Alex Ferguson (he loves) - Mick McCarthy and the FAI (he hates) and the famous Halannd comment.

I would not go near recommending this book as I feel no-one (even a committed Man United fan) has anything to learn from it.
Keane - The Autobiography     On: 2005-04-29

Roy Keane is overated and so is this book. The book describes his life and upbringing in Cork. It says that things were not easy for him. How bad can things be for someone who makes in a week what it takes me a year to make!!!Keane berates everyone, especially Mick McCarthy, and he is innocent. He disgraced himself at the World Cup 2002 and he offers no apologies in his book. Dont waste your money, boy!!!
Good Book but needs MORE.....     On: 2005-03-19

I enjoyed the insight from an obviously first hand perspective into the greatest club team in the world and the Irish national side. I would of liked more anecdotes from Keane about his relationships with other players -- teammates as well as adversaries. To the casual football fan this is a good read, but I expected more from Keane.

It is about an Irish soccer player finding his way to glory.

Keane...inside the mind of a winner     On: 2004-01-04

This book allows an individual to enter the mind of the talented, agressive, and determined Keane. His intensity for life is shown as well as his desire to succed. FIVE stars for the field general.

PASSION as only Keano can deliver!!     On: 2003-10-23

For anyone who actually understands the game of football, and has a desire to glimpse the innerworkings of one of the most passionate, hard grafting and complete players of all time, this book is a must. Roy Keane exhibits the epitomy of a true winner and his story is awe inspiring as he moves from an overlooked youngster to the center of the world stage! Dont expect a cozy story, but a gritty, honest and sometimes hilarious account of Roys professional football career. A must buy!!
On the 7th day God made KEANO!!!!     On: 2003-10-18

I love this book. I think Roy is one of the best and most interesting characters in football. From watching him play with man utd I have seen how just having him in the game can totally change the way his teammates play and the outcome of a game. I loved reading this book and I love Keano!!!
Keane is just a bad person!!!!     On: 2003-10-10

im just going to flat out say it, I HATE ROY KEANE!!! any real fan of soccer would know where im coming from. Keane is always making trouble for his team weither it be Manchester or Ireland, he is just a ruthless player who takes the game WAY too far. one time he nearly ended a players career by directly hitting his knee, not the ball!!! his foot wasnt even near the ball when he hit him. oh, not to mention he is always getting red carded. i just dont under stand how Manchester can deal with such a nasty player. Please dont read this book it isnt worth the money...
