WATCH OUT!!! Amazon has the audacity to sell this bottle for $89, when all liter bottles by Sigg sell for $20. There is a huge shortage of these bottles right now, the manufacturer in Switzerland is reconfiguring their factory to accommodate the huge increase in demand for safe drinking bottles. If you google it you can still find these bottles for the $20 they were intended to sell for.....not this obscenity of $89. I watched the price increase at Amazon from $20 to over $40, then to $50 and now $89!!!! Wow!!!! Google it instead, or wait for the factory to catch up.

I have no complaints and strangely a very warm feeling for this water bottle. Strangely, even though it contains the same amount of water as a plastic 1 liter canister, it feels somehow lighter, or the water better distributed. I think this is not physics but more the kinesthetics of holding it -- which I do often with the ring at top -- which is much easier for the hands.
I caught myself giving these for random holidays (Fathers Day? Mothers Day? VALENTINES Day?), which revealed to me how much Im actually liking this bottle, which I got more to avoid buy bottled water instead for the minimalist kool-gadget feel of this simple, straight-forward water vessel.
Note warnings about not mixing things in these bottles or distilling alcohol or what have you. (and it is the mixing of things in the Nalgene bottles that proved to be the worst for you too!) So stick to water -- and remember that the temperature of the contents propagate quickly to the hand holding it, so careful with very cold and very hot. Dont confuse this with a thermos, which it resembles, or you are going to burn yourself.

This bottle is fine but when I bought was not informed that this top bottle is the right one to use as reservoir but not the one to drink during a bike class.Wld be better to offer the top bottles available with some explanation of the uses.

I bought both the Sigg and Kleen Kanteen (with plastic and SS tops). The Sigg is better looking, but bruises more easily than the KK. You have to decide if the coating, which the company claims is secret, has any effect on the Water, and your health. I personally prefer the KK with the SS top. The SS top fits better than their plastic ones.

I was happy with this purchase. I liked how the bottle had no smell when you drank it and it is good size.
The only problems that I had with it, is that the head of the bottle is pretty small (not good for easy cleaning) and next time I would get more durable all stainless steal bottle instead of one with a plastic outside.
Otherwise, I have been very pleased with this product

The cold stays cold. It took awhile to get past the "metallic" taste having been used to plastic, but its not a big deal now.

I was looking for the perfect reusable bottle and I found it. The SIGG is exactly what I wanted in a water bottle. I bought the 1 litre size so I usually drink about 3 a day and it helps me stay hydrated. Its simple to clean, has a great seal so you dont have to worry about leaks and its solid and sturdy so I expect to be using it for years to come. The best part is that theres no plastic to ruin the flavor of your water. No more plastics breaking down in your water or piling up in the landfills.

I love this water bottle! Everyone loves the design on it, too. The only thing I was surprised with was that the outside was easier to dent that Id expected. I dropped it on a rock and it dented the bottle. Its just a little dent, though, so the bottle is still usable. I hadnt owned a Sigg before, so people who have probably already know the strength of the outside layer.

I purchased some of these after hearing about the dangers of Bisphenol-A and Im really pleased. Trying to avoid those chemicals had me out looking for an alternative way to carry my daily water. Im a Weight Watchers lifetime member and drink a lot of water. This bottle is big enough to keep me going for quite a while, and the water stays cool enough. The bottles come in a huge range of colors, and sizes. I prefer the loop top that screws open to a bottle top, and my son loves his sports top. Id say the only minus is that you cant put it in the dishwasher. I bought the special brushes from Amazon for the SIGG bottles, and the cleaning tablets for occasional deep-cleaning. Bisphenol-A is being banned from baby items here in California, but after reading about the effects of it that are just coming to light (and having experienced some similar health problems- a link?) I think we need to really look at the dangers for all. A great product!

I love my new Sigg water bottle. It is a big size. It is great to go to the gym with and even drink around the house. It is beautiful and vibrant...much better than a standard plastic watter bottle. Just be warned if you put ice in it, it gets pretty cold and sweaty. My ice maker makes skinny ice that fits. I bought a sport top for it and a strap to carry when I walk which is a great addition if you can find one in stock( I had to get one off ebay). I am a new Sigg fan and highly recommend using one of these instead of plastic.

I purchased one of the Sigg bottles online at Amazon.com several months ago. I immediately fell in love with it and threw away all my Nalgene and other plastic bottles/cups.
The water tastes like just like water (quality in - quality out, be sure to use properly purified water - I use Nikken filters),and the coating imparts no taste whatsoever. I even left the bottle at work over the weekend when I forgot it and left it on my desk, and the water still tasted fresh the next Monday. I loved it so much that I bought one for every member of my family, and they love them too. I did taste tests, and now I cant stand to drink water out of plastic bottles - it makes that much of a difference!
Now Im looking for a 1.5L bottle in a funky pattern (cant find any that I like yet in terms of color/pattern) because Im drinking more water every day.
I highly recommend this product. What a wonderful purchase and worth every penny. Im going to give them as Christmas presents to friends this year too. Works great to clip to a backpack with a caribeaner (or I sometimes just slip mine in my purse - it does NOT leak). Lightweight, easy to clean (buy the brushes), highly recommend this product!

I absolutely love this water bottle. As weird as it sounds, I find that I am drinking more water since I got this bottle. I used to just refill my empty plastic bottle and take it to work each day. But now, having a beautiful bottle to drink out of, I am certainly getting my proper intake of water daily. Many of the people at work have commented on the bottle and inquired about where they could get one too. The bottle is a great size and incredibly light weight. Only downside to the bottle is that it can not be put in the freezer.

Ive been going on and off of a water only drink regimen for months now. Since starting to pack my husband lunch everyday, Ive made him take one Nalgene 1lt bottle to work everyday. The night before, I put it in the freezer to free filtered water, then in the morning, fill the rest with filtered water...giving him cold water until 2ish. Its gotten him to like drinking water so much that he ends up refilling his Nalgene bottle at least one other time.
I say all this to say, wed grown out of the 2 Nalgene bottles I had. So I went searching for something other than the bottles we had. Both were wide mouth bottles. This presented a problem. Since Id freeze water, when it started to defrost and come loose, when drinking a solid mass of ice would come barreling towards the opening leading to a watery mess. This happened to my husband in a few meetings.
So then I tried a narrow mouth Nalgene bottle. This solved the previous problem, but we found it was hard to clean. Also we would have to smash ice cubes into it if we forgot to freeze water the night before, which after filling with 15 ice cubes or so, would leave a sore palm.
Though this bottle also has a narrow mouth, I figured wed give it a shot. I still have the same complaints about cleaning, but this metal (aluminum?) bottle presents a whole host of new issues for me.
* First, its barely 1lt. This is must be figured by filling the bottle to the very brim. Comparably, if you fill a Nalgene 1lt bottle to its brim, it could come very close to 38oz.
* Second, its no where near as durable as my Nalgene bottle. I can take my Nalgene bottle and bang it against a sidewalk to break up ice without a second thought. I dropped this Sigg bottle on my tiled kitchen floor, and it has a dent! Forget about banging it against a sidewalk.
* Third, the paint is cheesy. It feels like regular latex. Im not going to test my theory, but I do believe if I got one breach in the paint, I could peel it away. This bottle could surprise me, but thats the impression I get from paint.
* Fourth, the metal radiates the cold. This doesnt happen with my Nalgene. So, if the bottom half of the bottle contains frozen water, the outside top half of the bottle will be cold...this doesnt necessarily mean the water in the top half will be cold.
But I supposed its fashionable. I got the camo Sigg.
If you dont have an aversion to plastic, Id still recommend the Nalgene for a rugged water bottle.
## I just read the FAQ and discovered the manufacturer recommends not freezing the bottle. Ive already frozen it twice.
So to recap, I cant drop it, I cant freeze it, I cant scratch it, and if lost in the wilderness I cant use it to boil water.

It says in the packaging that these are not supposed to have a smell or taste. I washed in hot soapy water and let air dry overnight before first use. I definitely detected a metallic taste/scent. Maybe it is because it is new. I dont know but I dont like it. Other than that, the bottles are made extremely well. They look good too. The last thing is the loop top screw on lid. While I am in classes, it is awkward to have to screw and unscrew the lid. Hiking or biking the bottle is great.

I love my water bottle. Only problem is that if you are not careful with it you will dent it easily. To me the dents add character so I am quite okay with that, but if you need things to be perfect, then stick to a plastic one. Water tastes great and it keeps cooler longer.

I just started carrying this bottle with me to work each day. I had a 4-bottle-a-day Diet Pepsi habit to break and this is helping tremendously. Unlike other water bottles, this does not leech any taste to the water, or whatever else you have in the bottle. It is also very attractive. It is nicely constructed and even for the price, it is better than I thought it would be. I bought a 1 liter bottle, and it seems to be enough water to last me the whole day. I have also ordered a .6 liter bottled to use at home. They are so attractive that its nice to have two.

I purchased this water bottle to "go green" and stop with the 2 dozen or so water bottles I go through weekly and so far so good. The water definitely tastes terrific and stays cold. Ive received compliments at the gym on the cool design as well. The opening takes a little getting used to at first to drink out of and unscrew and I wish they sold extra alternative tops for them but Im used to it now. It does fit in the holder on the bike at spin class which I was afraid of so no complaints yet. Ill probably purchase a smaller one for my 3 year old and 1 for my husband as well!

Dont let the weight of this bottle fool you, this is a tough water bottle. I was afraid it would be too heavy to carry around, but it is perfect for everyday use. There is no after taste of metal and I appreciate that I am helping reduce the plastic water bottles in the garbage cans. Love this bottle, definitely worth the money!

After having misplaced my smaller Sigg (.6 liter) I found myself in the market for a new one. I decided to go for the 1 liter since I have anemia and tend to drink large quantities of water. I chose the "Bubbles" design with the sport top. I have tried out the 3 different tops offered by Sigg and by far prefer the sport top because of its ease of use. As Ive read in other reviews it is true that sometimes the images will chip and the bottle will dent, but even with these minor faults I would still recommend this water bottle over any other brand. Sigg water bottles look great, are lightweight, recyclable, taste neutral and dont leak unwanted plastics into your drink.

I bought a 1 L waterbottle and within 3 days dropped it on a carpeted floor, and it got a huge dent. Its since gotten another dent. I dont care about aesthetics, but I am afraid that the enamel will eventually come off (or the volume will be much less than 1 L because of all the dents into the bottle). I was very disappointed, since this is such an expensive waterbottle. On the other hand - it doesnt have any "taste" at all, and it seems to have a good seal - it doesnt leak like Nalgene does. If only I could be sure its going to LAST more than a few weeks... Im a bit afraid to take it out on the trail, which is what its made for, right?

I used to buy a lot of single-serve bottled water and each week found that I had so much plastic bottles in my recycling bin. I have also used Nagalene bottles but found that they werent much of an improvement from using plastic bottles. Determined to reduce that waste, I found this product.
The SIGG is reminiscent of those camping canteens but with a unique shape and modern design. If you have small hands, its best that you purchase the kids version (or the smaller bottle) because gripping this would not be comfortable (my palm-size is about 6.8"). Alternatively, you can carry the bottle via the cap. Its definitely water-tight (as long as you screw the cap on correctly) and I noticed that my drinks remain somewhat cold (as opposed to room temperature).
I rated it 4 stars because it can do with a number of improvements:
- the screw cap is made out of plastic: I havent had a chance to research on whether it is made from recycled plastic but I thought Id mention that to the "ultra-environmentalists" out there. Still, its better than consuming water out of a "disposable" plastic bottle daily.
- Because of its design, it feels odd at first when you drink directly out of the spout because of the ridges/screw track. You get used to it, though. You can buy the sport cap attachment but that to me is just a luxury and not necessity.
- A bit difficult to wash; Im too cheap to purchase the separate cleaning solution so I use baking soda and water to clean the inside. If I fill it with something other than water, I suspect Id have to get a baby bottle brush to scrub the inside.
Overall, its a uniquely-shaped and great alternative to reusable Nagalene/Lexan/Plastic bottles. If youre wondering what Ive done to my old Nagalene bottles, I use them as spare change holders around the house. ^_^

I thought I had finally found the perfect water bottle. It was made of a non-leaching material, it came in a larger size than the average water bottle, and the design was stylish. Unfortunately, it has not lived up to my expectations. Be sure to screw the cap on VERY TIGHTLY or you will have water all over your gym bag or car seat. Also, keep a firm grip on it at all times since it can not handle a fall to the floor without sustaining considerable damage. I dropped the bottle once and it is now dented on the bottom. The impact made the bottom pop out so now it wobbles on my desk. This is not a cheap product so I expected more from it- especially since I have only owned it for about three weeks!

I am amazed with the well thoughtout design of the SIGG. I purchased this with the brush cleaner which is equally well designed. I have had many positive comments on the look of the SIGG and people wondering where I got it. I am pleased to pass on the information. This aluminum water bottle arrived in a box with no packing material! Of course the thing came completely dented! I emailed the company to get a replacement (which was technically too late, as it was Christmas gift and not enough time to get a replacement). Of course, they didnt have any more of the style I ordered. They offered a replacement that was not a style I wanted (way too different). The person said that if the replacement did not work and they did not hear from me within 5 business days they would cancel my order & refund my money. Well, after 5 business days and no refund, I emailed them to ask what was up. A different person responded that I now have to send the damaged water bottle back. The first person just said they would send my money back if they did not hear from me & the 2nd person wants me to send it back. First the bad packaging, then no replacement available and now inconsistent customer service. I would not order from this company again or recommend them to anyone.

This is a great water bottle. It is super light, water tastes like water from it, the lid is secure and leak proof. Due to its lightness it does dent if dropped but otherwise it is still a tough water bottle and a few knocks do not alter its performance. One of the nicest things about the Sigg bottle is the rim, it feels good to drink from and is easy to drink from when on the move. The bottle is easy to clean, especially with a cleaning brush. The appearance of the bottle is also attractive. All in all a fantastic product!

I drink water constantly but have a strange aversion to using normal cups and glasses. Ive been in the bad habit at home of refilling bottles from bottled water and decided a a SIGG bottle would be a better alternative. My girlfriend has a Kleen Kanteen and I dont like the metallic taste of the water, plus the design of the lip just doesnt work for me and I spill all over myself when I try to take a drink. The SIGG bottle has neither of these problems, and I find the design much more appealing (I got the Code Red design). The mouth of the bottle is small and the lip flares out slightly. I was planning on getting a sport cap for it, but for now Im happy without one. I just got it today, so I cant comment on how it stands up to wear.

This bottle is even more beautiful than in the picture. The blue one is quite nice too. I bought them as gifts and so havent used them, but Sigg is the leader in this business. I am sure they will be great. If they had offered this design in a smaller size I would have bought it, but this one is not too large to fit in the large size cup holders and in pockets on backpacks.

I love the bottle. Ive been using it every day in place of the water bottles that I would normally buy and throw away. Not only is this saving me money and saving our environment (no more disposable water bottles) it is very stylish. Ive gotten multiple compliments and comments on the bottle. It keeps my drinks cold for hours.
The only drawback is that it doesnt fit in the cupholders in my car, but it fits between the bucket seats easily enough, so it isnt much of an issue.

I received two metal bottles from I ordered from Amazon. A Sigg and a Kleen Kanteen (KK).
The Sigg is 1 liter and made out of aluminum. The diameter of the bottle (3.15") is slightly too big for my cars cup holder, but fits my fanny pack pockets. The outside has some cool purple paint (comes in different colors/designs). Theres a coating on the inside to protect the water from the aluminum; this coating is proprietary, so they wont tell you what it is. It does say not to use the bottle for long term storage, which makes me nervous, as does the aluminum.
The KK is 27 Oz and made out of stainless steel. The diameter is too small for the car/fanny pack (rattles around), but fits nicely into a bike bottle cage. The 27 Oz is less than I prefer, but is probably OK for most purposes.
Both seem like high quality items, which they should be for $20 each. Both have loop top screw on caps (KK has other options too) with gasket seals. KKs top is made of stainless steel on the side that touches the water, whereas the Sigg has a plastic top (nylon?). The top on the Sigg has a fine thread, which can cross thread more easily. The size of the opening on the KK is larger, which I like. Both have a smooth edge thats easy to drink from. Both pass the turn upside down test (no leaks).
I rinsed both out with hot water several times, then put distilled water into each from my Waterwise distiller. The KK does impart a slight metallic taste, whereas I cant detect any added taste from the Sigg. I can also smell the metal from the KK. I dont know of any health problems from stainless steel, and in fact my distiller is made from stainless steel, so Im not sure what to think about the added taste. It may be more of a smell than a taste from the KK, since when I pour water that has been in the KK overnight into a glass, there is very little taste difference.
If KK made a 1 liter bottle with the standard diameter (about 3 inches, like plastic bottles), deciding which to use would be a no brainer for me. With the different trade offs, Im not sure which Ill end up using, but probably the KK; the aluminum and coating just seem like they have too many potential health problems over the long term. KK does make a larger 40 oz bottle, but the diameter is too big for me at 3.5 inches.

Ive had my Sigg water bottle (life style loop top)for about three weeks, and I love it. Im going to buy another one for myself and one for my brother (Xmas). Today it finally happened - I dropped the bottle on a tile floor. Now I have a total of 4 dents/dings in it. For me, its almost the same icky feeling as when your new car gets its first ding. You know its going to happen eventually, but it still bothers you.

Ive been using a refillable plastic water bottle for gym visits etc., but if I forget to empty it, it quickly develops a stale odor which I get a big whiff of every time I take a gulp. I could buy bottled water and have "fresh" every day, but I find that level of plastic consumption indefensible. I found an ad for a steel water bottle, and was poised to buy it, but it was made in China, and my understanding is that Chinese manufacturers may use recycled metals with little consideration of their origin--they may even have traces of radioactivity.
So I jumped on this one, which is manufactured in Switzerland. It can be washed in a dishwasher, but wouldnt need that if used exclusively for water. My daughter uses it to take to school, and our only complaint about it is that despite its reported double-wall construction, it doesnt hold liquid temperature well--heat and cold tend to be conducted quickly.

Two caveats:
1) Not dishwasher safe and Hard to figure out how to clean (I just purchased Siggs specially designed brush--hope it helps)

I bought one bottle for each of my family as an alternative to the plastic disposable bottles since we are trying to go green, and theyre great. We fill them up with filtered water from the fridge in the morning and are good to go for the day. Theyre light weight (lighter than the Nalgene bottles), came in great designs and are easy to clean (no sign of algae on the bottom of the bottle yet!). And the water doesnt taste plastic-ky after sitting in a hot car. They are on the expensive side, but Ive already saved the money that i would have paid from buying the Poland Spring by the bottle.

Beautiful indigo hue; the detail work (i.e. dinosaurs, ladies silouhettes, planets, guns, Independent logo, lightning bolts, yin/yang sign, ... muscle men?) is oddly nonsensical (high heel next to insect, wtf, please?), but amusing nevertheless. These are really wonderful bottles. Great for kids and adults. They are reusable, very durable and help keep cold drinks cold and warm drinks warm. Instead of those cheap plastic bottles that make your water taste like the bottle, these add no taste or odor, due to a special lining. You save money because you can refill them and they will last for years. Great for kids sports games-there are so many unique designs, no confusing them with teammates drinks. This is actually the first review I have ever left. I highly recommend this bottle. Water tastes very clean compared to plastic bottles. It makes a big difference! Every time I have taken it out, someone always seems to complement on how cute the design is as well. Im very happy with this product.

This is an upscale designer water bottle, top of the line, and so much fun. The designs Of Siggs water bottles are gorgeous, from the plain, solid color bottles, to the ones with intricate designs. They are simply beautiful! I switched from regular plastic water bottles because of health concerns, thinking it would take more work to maintain. These do necessitate regular cleaning (I clean mine every day), but having something so beautiful to drink from makes the cleaning fun. Sort of like my rings, glasses, and watch, I now consider my Sigg personal water bottle a vital accessory, reminding me to drink more water, making a statement about my values, and expressing myself with a special design. Yes, all in a water bottle!
Sigg of Switzerland water bottles are very high quality, made of light aluminum on the outside, slightly insulated, and covered with a special powder coat on the inside that prevents any leaching whatsoever, unlike plastic and polycarbonate water bottles. They are light, durable, and perfect for any activity. Well water tastes spectacular in these bottles, just like from the tap.
Sigg bottles come with several different types of tops. I bought the screw top because I dont like sports tops, and I dont mind unscrewing the top when I want a drink. It is totally leakproof, which is important to me. The top is pretty and can be hooked onto a carabiner. I get comments on it all the time, "Whats that? I love it!" The sports top version is ok; I just am not a fan, as I dont feel like I can get enough water from the little stream from the sports top. However, for convenience, you might prefer it. For children, there is a cap-type top. All are leak-proof. If you are ever unsatisfied with the top, you can buy a screw top separately to fit your Sigg bottle.
Sigg makes their personal water bottle in .6L and 1L in this style. I have both. I use the .6L for sports activities because they are smaller. When I wont have to carry the container, I like the larger bottle. Sigg also makes a smaller .3L bottle for children that is a perfect size for young people. You can buy Siggs in alternative sizes too, such as .75L, .4L (for kids), .6L, .5L. You can occasionally find this bottle in the 1.5L size, also. Search Amazon for the perfect size.
Pick a style and pattern you like, as this bottle is a personal accessory, and should reflect your style. The colors are vibrant and even prettier than they seem in the pictures on Amazon.
They are expensive, but they are so durable that you can plan on them lasting many years. I consider them both an accessory and an investment in my health, so they are well worth it value-wise for me.

I hesitated before buying this water bottle because its so much more expensive than others out there. But I do think that its worth every penny.
1. water tastes clean

My beautiful SIGG Mahardsha Traveller encourages me to drink my water! It is an attention getter, too. Everyone comments on how unique it is. By using it and filtered tap water, Im saving a bundle by not buying bottled water. This also reduces the number of plastic water bottles that end up in the trash, too! Besides, the water tastes so much colder in the chilled aluminum than from plastic!

The picture on this website does not make any justice to the bottle itself! The color is an outstanding "rubi" red vivid and super shinny. The carrying cap that comes with it is great and keeps the bottle absolutely sealed - I tried it in many occasions so far.
Its pretty light weight for a 1L bottle (leak and shock proof are also qualities I dont need to mention) and it really does not keep any smell, even holding for more than 6 hours some sorts of fruity juices and sometimes soups.
This model does not come with the Sports Mouth Cap, but you can find the original one easily, it can be sold separately and fits all models of Sigg bottles.
If you are looking for a top quality product which is not expensive and it can be used everywhere for almost everything liquid and "drinkable", you must have this one.

Ive been lusting after an aluminum water bottle for quite some time, and finally got this SIGG. I am very pleased, so far. It comes to work with me every day. True to the descriptions, your water will taste neutral after being in this bottle. I have not tried storing any other liquid in it, however, and so cannot testify to its taste properties with juice or anything other than good old dihydrogen monoxide. I would recommend this bottle to anybody, however dont go bashing it around like you can with a Lexan bottle. Aluminum can dent fairly easily, but thats the price you pay for lightweight. SIGG Switzerland rocks!
