love the bottles! I got one in fire, which is a great color, and one in pine for my boyfriend, and he loves it too! On: 2008-04-23
I drink almost two gallons of water a day from 8 oz plastic water bottles- but when I leave the house- this thing is a life saver. Filled with lots of ice, it keeps the water cold and there is plenty of it! Very pleased with purchase. On: 2008-04-12
I purchased 2 of these to bring with me to work each day. When I found out they needed to be cleaned with special tablets, I wasnt impressed. As long as one is aware that the bottle needs extra cleaning attention (whether you use the tablets or not, the mouth piece needs special attention to cleaning so you dont get fungus or micro-organisms), then you will be pleased. As for me, I will go back to using my regular sports bottles because they take less time to clean. On: 2008-04-11
This is a good product. Easy to clean and perfect for gym or office. On: 2008-04-07
I ordered this bottle for my daughter - and it was just what she wanted. THe price was comparable to other stores. However; if I had known the water bottle was sold in one of our local stores, I would have purchased it there as the shipping was a little much. On: 2008-03-28
Im really enjoying this bottle. Doesnt spill. You can use it while driving with the straw feature. I dinged it one star because there is no insulation but otherwise its a nicely designed product. On: 2008-03-27
Having the regular sports top bottle for over a year, I had problems with leaks when I would tilt it up to drink from it. Then the supplier I use to get them from started using some weird twist top that you had to suck hard on to get anything out. I got more air in my mouth than water so I would switch the old sports top with the weird one and that was almost as annoying as getting a shower when Id go to take a drink.
So I started on the hunt to find something... better.
First off, if youre having a hard time with the price, considering most cheapy standard water bottles are around 5 dollars. I paid 13-14 dollars for my camelbak bottle because I wasnt sure what the deal was with the big bite valve on the top. So I went local to a sporting goods store to see if I could get one there.
I bought one, I wanted the full 1 liter but the .75 was all they had. I have to say that I went the next day to another store and found they had all the sizes and the .75 suits me the best. I went back because I wanted another one!
These are solidly constructed, the cap doesnt leak, the valve doesnt leak. The valve is a rubber design with a slit in the top, when you bite on it, it opens up and you get a drink. Let it go and it closes. I filled it up and turned it over with the valve up then down, I shook it, nothing leaked.
I love that they designed it so that if you dont have the straw it still works, if you dont have the bite valve either it still works! You can flip the valve closed so it doesnt get dirty or damaged... still doesnt leak, and its easy to flip it back up with the little tab on the bottom.
And the colors! Orange, blue, green, red... take your pick, all nice.
I looked at the whole shelf of water bottles and this one is the most amazing Ive found.

The thing I like most about this water bottle is that its truly spill proof! I have had so many water bottles claim they are only to have a few drips here and there. I can throw this in my bag and not worry about spilling on my mp3 player or phone. Its very durable and I love the color.
It doesnt fit in my cup holder in my car, but thats ok because again, i can just throw it on the seat and not worry about it spilling. On: 2008-02-17
I love the Camelback bottle. I bought the 16 oz. size as well but the 24 oz. is the perfect size for me. It travels well, doesnt leak, keeps things cold well. I would definitely buy it again. I received my order within 4-5 days. On: 2008-02-11
I have two of these and have had them for two years. I have never had a problem. They have never molded nor gotten black gunk anywhere. I use sports drink, crystal light, sweet tea, water, lemonade, everything in them. I wash them out every night that I use them and let them air dry. Squeeze the bit valve with you fingers and let hot water flush it out. Never a problem. Ever. Dont put them in the dishwasher. The little valve cover inside will get filled with food stuff gunk and then it will leak and taste gross, duh. That was super easy to rinse out, though. Once I figured that out, I never put it in the washer again. The bite valve is easy once you get used to it, and it makes a ton of sense. On: 2008-02-01
I love, love, love this product but was HORRIFIED when I pulled the bite value off to clean it and found black muck. I had cleaned the bottle and exterior of the value often, but in the 3 months I had been using the product, never pulled the plastic value off. OMG, it was disgusting. To think I was drinking out of that! Yuck! Ive ordered a replacement bottle and will clean under the valve daily. On: 2008-01-26
I find it hard to believe there arent more negative reviews. To get a full sip of water is practically impossible. You have to bite down and suck hard to get the liquid out and it only comes out in a dribble. If anybody wanted to use this on a treadmill, forget it. The bottle does look nice but if you want something where you can get a quick drink this isnt it. On: 2007-12-09
Great product! I have three of them and would buy another without hesitation. Exactly what I was looking for. On: 2007-12-08

I purchased this bottle because of all of the good reviews, but it leaks more than my old Rubbermaid. It seems that water gets caught in the bite cover, and then leaks out when you least expect it. Bottle is OK otherwise, but the leaking is really annoying me. It happens more often after I fill it. It is, however, sleek looking and attractive, and overall serves its purpose. On: 2007-12-03
I would have given this a 5 star rating except for the design on the bottle. Why do they have to put skulls on everything? The functionality and usage of the bottle is fantastic.... We have 2 for each member of our family~~~ We LOVE them! ~ Just change the artwork please! :-) On: 2007-12-02
I love this water bottle! Everyone wants to know where I got it. I would gladly recommend it to everyone. On: 2007-12-02
I am a water bottle freak and this is my favorite! The biting and sipping from a straw supposedly freaks other people out (a friend said I look like a baby but I DONT CARE!) but if the bottle does what it says it does---its worth it---and more!
Most water bottles you have to use two hands to screw open, then you have to tip it to drink. You probably didnt realize this because you havent experienced this Camelbak---but this mechanism is a HASSLE! In addition, you have the increased likelihood of SPILLING the water on your face and clothes when you drink from it. Tell me that hasnt happened before. Or if you didnt screw it on tight enough and you realized it leaked all over your bag.
Camelbak is awesome because:
1.) Spills/leaks is obviously out of the question. Even if I forgot to press down the spout and then threw it in my bag - chances of it leaking is still very minimal. Uhh, like a drop or two? Also, you can tell that the cap that you screw on is very tight and its not like you have to have superman strength to make sure it is tight (if youve had a cheapo bottle, you know what I mean!).
2.) Drinking water is NOT a hassle. It takes just one hand, one flip of the spout, and Im drinking away. I honestly believe I drink more water because the process is easier. Scenario 1: Reading a book, lay down the book, use both hands to open bottle, take sip, then get back to your book. Scenario 2: Reading a book, WHILE still reading reach for your bottle with ONE hand, flip the spout and drink away (a sip, two, the whole thing?) WHILE you are still reading the bottle. My point is that for the people who still dont like the bite and suck mechanism---I realize this has become a huge advantage obviously. Speaking kinesiologically (sorry, Im a clinical exercise physiology grad student) the process is literally easier. In scenario one, you have to do a lot more motion with your neck to drink therefore using more muscles therefore tiring you out and youd likely finish drinking your water sooner. In scenario two, no extraneous muscles are used (except for your hands) therefore you may be more inclined to drink dependent on your THIRST level not because of convenience.
I know, I overdid my explanation. I just LOVE THIS THING. On: 2007-12-01
I purchased 3 of these bottles, one for myself, my fiance, & my father for Christmas. It is a GREAT bottle. However, it got only 3 stars because it is made of Polycarbonate (#7 on the bottom) & it has been known to cause cancer. I didnt know that until after I purchased them. My own fault. I dont know why CamelBak would use a plastic known to cause cancer. I verified this through several web sites. CamelBak makes another bottle that doesnt. Im disappointed, and still use my bottle because it is so easy to drink out of. Oh well On: 2007-11-27
It is great. It holds the right amount of water, it is leak proof.... easy to access... I drink way more water than I used to simply because it is so wasy for my lazy self to suck on the bite valve thing. No caps no hassle, lots of hydration.... w00t! On: 2007-11-26
Ive bought several different kinds of water bottles, and this is the only one I use. The 750ml is a good size & weight for a womans hand. The loop makes it very easy to carry. I removed the bite thing as it was too weird, but it still doesnt leak if tipped over. The straw is great! Unlike many reviewers have commented, my straw does go to the bottom of the bottle. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill with ice, even from a refrigerators automatic ice dispenser. On: 2007-11-08
I bought this water bottle for a friend. She absolutely LOVES it. It is great because there is very little possibility for spills, and the bottle itself is very sturdy and dependable. The design worked flawlessly for her, and she carries it around with her everywhere that she goes. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. The only thing is that because the mouthpeice is kind of different, others might crack a few jokes. Overall, this product is wonderful. On: 2007-11-07
This is easily the best water bottle Ive bought. and Ive bought quite a few, from Nalgene, to aluminum bottles, to the Eddy Bauer ones, this beats them all. the only time this has ever leaked is when I got some sand in the release valve up in the top of the bottle, and that was cured by rinsing it off. This bottle is indestructible, it got mold in the bite valve, and thought the end was near, but nope, a visit to Camelbaks website told me the just take off the bite valve, and rinse it out, this worked perfectly, no more mold! also if the straw ever starts getting loose on the fitting, just put it in some boiling water, and itll go back to its normal shape. overall, this is a great bottle, it never leaks and is very tough. On: 2007-10-17
I have. Ever enjoyed using a water bottle more than this one. The built in straw is especially useful. On: 2007-10-14
I just got this water bottle about 3 days ago, one for my entire family. We ALL love it. My husband and I drink alot of water and my 2 kids ages 4 and 5, now constantly fill thiers. It is like a big sippy cup for adults and it doesnt leak! I throw mine right in my pocketbook when I am running out the door. My husband is a tractor trailer driver and he doesnt have to unscrew anything while hes trying to keep an eye on the road., just flip and bite the valve and water is right at your lips! Camelbak thought of everything when they made this bottle. THe extra money for this good bottle is worth it! On: 2007-10-12
Purchased this bottle a last month and I love it. I use it whenever I go to the gym or class. I have dropped this bottle plenty of times and it has not cracked. It is also easy to drink out of whenever I use a stepmaster machine. Dont have to worry about opening the entire cover, just lift the drinking tube with a finger and sip. Speaking of one finger, it also features a plastic loop on the cover that makes it easy to carry. On: 2007-09-28
I was tired of my husband complaining about his junky water bottle that he paid 50 cents for so I looked on line and read the review for some different bottles and this one seemed to fit the bill. When we got it it was so nice my husband loved it! He uses it every day! It is great to carry around and it is easy to fill with ice. I dont have ice dropping all over my Hardwood floors anymore. Its carry handle is really nice if you have your hands full and the color and quality of the bottle is very well made.
I love it and he loves it and no more complaining! Its great! Thanks! On: 2007-09-28
The Camelbak polycarbonate water bottle was "just what the doctor ordered" for my wife, who after recent surgery was required to drink water every two hours throughout the day. Her workplace wouldnt allow open cups or containers with straws, but the Camelbaks spill-proof mouthpiece saved the day. Its a great bottle for sipping--if you want to chug-a-lug, this probably isnt for you. The bottle is very sturdy and comes in several different colors. Overall, we were quite pleased with our purchase. On: 2007-09-27

This is a great product. It makes it very easy to drink the water you need everyday and see just how much you are drinking. The straw makes it easier for me personally to drink more water than I would normally. Very durable as well. On: 2007-08-20
i tell everyone i know that this is the best water bottle i have ever owned. i love the fact that i dont have to unscrew the top to drink the water...in fact, i dont have to open or close it ever and it doesnt leak or spill. i drink a lot more water now that i have this bottle. my husband bought it for me while i was pregnant because i was trying to drink a lot of water and it was annoying to repeatedly fill up glasses. i have tried lots of water bottles and none have come close to this one. definitely worth the money!! On: 2007-08-11
I love these bottles. My kids love these bottles. They are AMAZING. We drink more water with them than we ever did before.
However, you need to know that the blue bite valve needs to be removed often for washing. I didnt realize this for the first few months I used the bottle! When I finally took it off, there was black mold all inside the bite valve and on the white straw! I was mortified! We had to bleach everything to get it clean again.
Now, I keep a slim toothbrush handy for the purpose of cleaning out the inside of our bite valves. It fits snugly inside of the bite valve and scrubs off the inside ridges. On: 2007-08-07
Very sturdy, good-looking and well-made. I like the rubber "nipple" (and that it folds in), and handle. A very nice product! On: 2007-05-28
This was purchased for my best friends birthday and she loved it. She thought is was really cool and it works really great. Her husband threatened to steal it! On: 2007-05-14
I have been using a water bottle I got through work for years and it recently sprung a leak. I shopped around for a good water bottle and found this. It received good reviews all around and I figured I couldnt go wrong. I am very happy now that I got this. I am not particularly gentle with it, but it shows no sign of faltering. Great buy. On: 2007-05-12
This bottle is easy to use and cool looking. Its convenient not to have to open and close the bottle between sips, but the neoprene nozzle is a magnet for dirt and debris. On: 2007-05-12
This bottle is so awesome that someone stole it from me the first day I got it. I have since attained a new one basically because of its sheer awesomeness. The suck-y thing is really convenient for quick, easy access. The water seems to stay fresher than with my non-awesome bottle (less backwash I suppose). I would highly recommend that you buy this bottle, but I would also advise that you not leave it lying around. Happy Hydrating! On: 2007-05-07
This is the best water bottle Ive ever had. Although theres no easy way to attach Brita bottle filters, of which I have many, its large enough that I can fill it up with spring or filtered water at home and make it half the day, so only during the second half do I have to live with less than pristine water. I also love the leakproof design, since it has never leaked on me, ever. It does, however, have a few quirks.
Its too large for the cup holders in my car (99 Firebird), although it fits fine in my fiances car (02 Gallant). Also, because the bottle forms an air-tight seal, if the temperature increases too much between drinks the contents can become pressurized and will shoot out when the mouth piece is opened (but if you know this, it just means you get to drink without doing any work). But thats physics, so I think not having that happen would require not having an air-tight seal.
Overall, though, this is a great water bottle. It looks good, its durable, and it holds a good amount of water. I cant think of another water bottle Id rather have. On: 2007-05-07
I loved this bottle till I found green moss in my bite valve. Bad and not so bad, it had been sitting on my counter for a week unused. The problem was when I tried to clean it (I scrubbed it with a little brush, I even soaked it in a bleach solution as a last resort) I could not get all the green stuff off.
Also I have not had it that long, maybe about 6-8 months and the plastic at the base of the thumb tab is starting to go white, showing that it is stressed (and will break at some point).
I still really like this bottle but will not get another. On: 2007-05-06

the no spill feature is wonderful, its sturdy not flimsy like other ones i have had. On: 2007-02-21
When I was very young and being dragged all over the Sierras, I would have killed for a bottle like this. Although you cant eat dehydrated scrambled eggs out of it, its still tons better than a crummy old Sierra Cup. Its tough. light, easy to use and very chic! What more could you want? On: 2007-02-20

If you have been looking for a great water bottle, this is it!!! I am not a hard core workout person - I just want to drink more water for my health. I use this bottle at work, going from meeting to meeting and bring it with me when I am on the go in the car. I never thought I would be so excited about a bottle, but I am - Camelbak really thought about useful features and it shows.
The bottle holds quite a bit of water (25 oz, 750mL). The bottle is leakproof. I like drinking from the straw - no tipping the bottle required. No unscrewing a cap, just flip up the valve and drink. I removed the flexible bite valve cover and just drink normally from the hard plastic straw piece since the bite valve seemed a little weird to me. I have had no problems with leaking with the valve cover removed - just flip down the valve when I am on the go and there is no leaking. The valve system seems very well designed. I generally sit the bottle on its side on the car seat or throw it in a bag with no leaking, just like a regular screw-cap bottle. The carry loop is nice - fits in your finger. It is easy to fill, with the wide mouth. It comes in lots of colors.
As for minuses, there is only one minor annoyance and that was mentioned by a previous reviewer - the straw does not reach the bottom of the bottle. Note that this size bottle does not fit into the car cupholder - would need the 16oz=0.5L for that. Also, the plastic has scratched slightly from rolling around on a sandy car mat.
I have decided to purchase another bottle so that I can have one at home and one at work. I highly recommend! On: 2007-01-22
Great product. Excellent quality and easy to use. It is a must have if you enjoy outdoors and workouts. On: 2006-12-30
I have gone through at least 4 different water bottles - Nalgene and all the rest, with and without sip guards - trying to find a good one with which to work out. I never liked how the larger Nalgenes were hard to sip during a workout, and I didnt like having to unscrew bottles while on a treadmill or elliptical. I found this one on Amazon, and it is the best one I have ever seen. It has a removable straw, so you can drink any way you like. I have other Camelbak products for trekking, so I already knew how fantastic the sip guard was. Really, if you have been searching for a good water bottle, this is it. I like the variety of colours, as well. On: 2006-12-01
This is just about the perfect water bottle. The polycarbonate is shatter proof, it holds three cups of liquid, and it has a built-in carry loop. The nozzle is easy to flip down with a built-in thumb tab, and the nozzle works by opening when you bite it. This makes the bottle pretty much leak-proof even when the nozzle is down, and since it is meant to be bitten, you dont end up with ugly teeth marks on it. The included straw makes it convenient to use, but it can be used without the straw if you prefer to tip it. I also like the vivid translucent color (I got a blue one). The only thing that would make it better is if the straw went all the way to the bottom; it stops about 1/4 or 1/2 inch above the bottom. On: 2006-11-30
