This is far superior to every other thermos type bottle available-either metal or glass lined. I have used both types and they are just toys in comparison and are just a waste of money. The Nissan keeps my coffee hot all day long and is worth every dime! On: 2008-06-30
Coffee stays reasonably hot all morning long and into the afternoon, even when I dont preheat the thermos. Doesnt leak. Well-built.

very good. dont dare drop it though!why?will no longer hol much heat. built in obsolesence? On: 2008-06-26
We selected this thermos because of its thermal insulating properties and its lifetime guarantee. We had one that failed to keep things warm after 4 years of service and it was replaced under the guarantee, no questions asked. On: 2008-06-24
I bought this Thermos so I could fill it up with water from the cooler to avoid multiple trips to the dispenser. I have only used it for cold water, but it has not disappointed as yet. Having left the flask half full on numerous occasions at my desk, I am pleased to report that the water remained cool for approximately 24 hours. Some users reported the spillage of liquid when pouring through the specially designed cap. I have not had this problem. You should not spill the contents if you tilt the bottle on a slight angle. Of course, if you completely invert the bottle, as I suspect many are doing, you should expect spillage. It does have a slick aluminum-brushed design, but I do find it a bit bulky and it does not fit neatly into a small tote. I prefer to carry it in my knapsack because it fits better, but once I stick my laptop and a pair of pumps in there, its too much action. In New York City, you do not want to laden yourself with unnecessary bulk and weight since you will need speed and agility to pass the slow moving tourists during rush hour. Overall, I am happy with the product and would buy it again. On: 2008-05-25
We use a large coffee press in the morning, a cup for each of us. The rest goes into this Thermos and stays hot the rest of the day until were ready for a second cup. On: 2008-05-19
Got this to have HOT coffee at work. Not only do I have hot coffee ALL DAY (!), but the coffee is still warm 36 hours later. I close the top every time after I pour some coffee; heat is not lost. This is a great buy if you like products that are what they say they are. On: 2008-05-16
It is a very good product. I drink homemade tea. Now I can prepare at home drink all day. I dont need to buy coffee anymore. On: 2008-05-12
I live in Southern California and weve already had our first wave of unbearable heat. I try not to keep the air-conditioner on too much since its not very budget friendly. And the fridge in my new apartment doesnt have an ice maker! What to do? Buy this thermos. Of course, as soon as I got it, I had to test it out. I filled it with a cold drink a few hours before bed and had a drink as soon as I woke up 9 hours later. It was still fridge cold. Did it stay super chilled through 24 hours? No. But it was still cool by 5 or 6 that next evening. More than I expected and all I needed. I have my room fans and my thermos. Im now ready for summer. On: 2008-05-09
It keeps the temperature for at least 6 hours. Easy to carry and looks nice. Definitely recommend this item.

I have used this thermos a couple of times and it has been excellent. First time I poured boiling water and it was hot for almost 24 hrs. Great use for traveling and also at home I use medium hot water and use for cereals and formulas all day for my infant, saves time. On: 2008-05-02
I was looking for thermos that would accommodate two good sized coffee cups and this was it. If you are looking to keep your drinks hot for a long tme it is best to preheat the thermos prior to filling but if you are simply transferring coffee to work and drinking it when you get there there is really no need. The good part about the thermos is the size but that also makes it more difficult to clean. A small price to pay for the ability of bringing home brewed Starbucks coffee to work and not having to buy it. On: 2008-05-02
Im about to buy a second one of these so i can have a designated coffee and tea thermos. Works amazingly, dont know how i got by without it. On: 2008-05-02
This is the best Thermos Ive ever tried. I was so impressed with its performance that I ordered 2 more as gifts. Note: Take advantage of the 4 for 3 offer and make 3 other people happy or keep a spare handy. On: 2008-04-24
I was looking for a thermos for our ski trip and found Nissan thermos 34-Ounce based on others reviews. The first thing we did was to test how long it can keep the hot water hot. My husband poured some boiling water into it. Tweenty four hours later, I tested it by pouring the water on the back of my hand, which was a very stupid thing to do. I burned myself and still have a scar on my hand more than one month later. We put it in our backpack and there is no a drop of water leaked! We love it. Now no matter where we go, we can have hot green tea. Also it is very easy to clean. On: 2008-04-23
This Thermos is just what I was looking for. Its big enough for me to enjoy four good sized cups of tea (not necessarily the measuring-cup size, maybe bigger), yet small enough not to be bulky or attention-catching. Today I poured piping hot tea at 7:30 a.m. and now at 5:40 pm I am sitting down and enjoying the last cup of tea, which is still very hot! This is a great thermos for people on-the-go who dont have time throughout the day to keep making whatever theyre going to be storing in the themos, be it hot tea, coffee or cold drinks. I am very happy with my purchase. On: 2008-04-16
Great thermo - doesnt quite keep my coffee hot for 24 hours as advertised, but its definitely steaming hot for about 6 hours, hot for another few hours, warm until the next day. My only complaint (which is my fault) is that it was much bigger than I thought, and it barely fits my briefcase. It fits in my backpack, but itll take up lots of space and is heavy. Good for taking coffee for a few people, but for myself alone, its too big. On: 2008-04-11
The last time I used a thermos on a regular basis was in elementary school. My idea of such a product was a cheap plastic thingy that kept soup warm or apple juice cold for just a few hours. Well, apparently the thermos has not escaped the massive revolution in technological developments that has occurred since the eighties.
According to a variety of sources I found on the web, the Nissan Thermos family of products is one of the most respected brands. It is the same company that manufactures the ubiquitous steel carafes containing milk or cream that you see at every Starbucks. Theres a reason that Starbucks purchases this brand for their stores: they need a carafe that will keep milk or cream very, very cold.
The package from Amazon arrived in the afternoon, and I was so excited to find out if it worked I made a pot of coffee in my french press at about 3pm. (I drink coffee all day, so this is not a problem.) At about 6pm, I opened the lid by unscrewing it completely so I could check its temperature and also pour myself a cup—still steaming hot.
I didnt open the thermos again until the following morning, after accidentally leaving it in the car all night. It was probably about 60 degrees in the car. The coffee was very warm, but not hot or steaming as it was the night before. However, it tasted quite good and had not become bitter. It had been approximately seventeen hours since I had made the coffee—far more time than the average workday&mdashl;so my assumption is that if you make coffee in the morning before work and then pour it into the thermos, youve got a hot cup of coffee all day.
Also, I discovered after reading the instructions that you dont need to take the cap off completely in order to pour the coffee. If I hadnt unscrewed the cap entirely when I checked the temperature and poured at 6pm the night before, it might have retained more heat.
Furthermore, the thermos just looks cool. Its silvery, tall, and space-age like.
Finally, the manufacturer also recommends that you fill the inside of the thermos with hot water prior to pouring your liquid in in order to "prep" the thermos for hot liquids. I did do this when I washed the thermos thoroughly before its first use. Its not clear to me how much that affected the thermos. On: 2008-04-11
Ive been using this thermos for a couple of weeks now. I havent used it yet for cold liquids, but it works better than I ever would have expected for keeping coffee hot and great-tasting.
The thermos works very simply. When you want to drink your beverage, partially unscrew the cap and pour.
The thermos retains heat much longer if you do not open it. For example, one night last week I sealed freshly brewed coffee in the thermos at midnight, then poured myself a cup a full nine hours later the following morning at work--the coffee was steaming hot and delicious.
If you do open the thermos more than once to pour, it still retains heat but not as much. For example, one day last week I sealed freshly brewed coffee into the thermos at 7:30am. I poured myself a cup at 8:30am (one hour later) and a second cup at 11:30am (four hours later). Both cups were steaming hot and delicious. At 2:15pm (6.75 hours after the initial brewing), I poured a third cup--the coffee was hot but not steaming (and still tasted great). On: 2008-04-03
I use this for my smoothies, and they stay cold and fresh-tasting all day. The thermos is easy to clean with one of those sponge-on-a-stick thingies. On: 2008-04-02
This is a great product! Keeps my coffee nice and hot for hours and does not leak. Looks nice and these vacuum flasks are a lot ligher than the old style plus they keep the coffee hotter. Some cheap ones have a plastic top that has an embedded chamber that the coffee has to pour through - those leak! But this thermos works great and does not leak. If you want a 34 ounce stainless vacuum bottle, this is the one to get. On: 2008-03-30
Im absolutely please with this thermos. Its pretty gigantic, though it still fits snugly into my messanger bag, and it keep stuff warm. What more could you want? I use it daily. On: 2008-03-25
You know, sometimes I feel like my tea or coffee actually gets hotter in this thermos while it sits waiting for me to drink it! I run hot water in it before I fill it, then drink from the lid cup provided throughout my 12 hour night shift. At the end of my shift, the beverage is still piping hot to the point I can feel it open my sinuses. It also holds a lot more than it looks like it should hold. If you are looking for a thermos that really works, this is the one. On: 2008-03-21
amazing ability to keep my tea hot for 12 hours and still warm after 24hrs. very nice. However I wish it had one of those button release cap for pouring instead of the twist cap. On: 2008-03-07
Ive contacted Zaccardi for my order. He gave me an email that doesntt
exist. Therefore, no order has been shipped to me yet. I am disappointed.
I need someone to tell Zaccardi to check my order status and try reshipping my order. The order has been paid for in advance. As of 3/6/2008, no thermo. No-one has tried to find out where order has been shipped to. All I can say, "I didnt get the order". Do I need to get my lawyer to contact you all in finding a 31.00 thermo? If so, I will gladly contact them.
Truthfully,

The Nissan Thermos 34oz is a handsome, sleek briefcase thermos. It is a great item. Can go anywhere. Will fit smoothly into backpack, carryall etc. Would also be very handy at bedside or computerside. Convenient capacity. Very satisfactory item. Highly recommend. On: 2008-02-24

Thats it. in 30 yr of using thermoses this is the best one Ive ever had. If i dont finish my coffee i still have a hot cup when I get home. or if Im real lazy Ill save it for the next morning. everything Ive ever cursed as a stupid design flaw in other thermoses isnt here. On: 2008-02-23
I bought this thermos to save coffee expenses during long trips. The purchase was worth it. I dont pay for coffee any more when travelling. Instead, I make coffee in the morning and Nissan thermos keeps it hot until evening. On: 2008-02-22
I bought this because in the late fall we are often freezing cold at soccer. I should have gotten it last fall, but didnt until now. Ive used it almost daily. I would make a hot tea for the day and 6 hours later, still hot. I am usually not a drink 8 glasses of water a day person, but having this thermo, I am drinking more and its good for my body. I have yet to try cold liquid, but I am guessing it would work just as well.
Positive: keeps liquid hot after 6 hours, easy to use
Negative: mouth is narrow, so not easy to wash and when pouring w/out opening the top (unscrew a few times) I feel like its going to fall off. On: 2008-02-10
the ad wasnt clear or else i didnt read it correctly because it was too big and i had to send it back. did not like the return process and that i had to pay for postage. On: 2008-02-08
I was disappointed when the thermos arrived because I wanted one with a pour spout. I work in an office and worrying about a thermos that might dribble on my desk or clothes is a real concern. But the pouring without removing the stopper feature really works.
This thermos does not dribble or leak if the lid is screwed on straight. Plus, you dont have to torque the lid to keep it from leaking. Since it doesnt have any handle, it slides nicely into my bag. Both the top & bottom of the thermos are flat, so I can stand it upside down with the screw on lid to drain out the last few drops of coffee. On: 2008-02-02
I highly recommend this product. Its exactly as advertised -compact and fits in briefcase easily, keeps liquids hot all day and doesnt leak at all. What more could you want? When I first received this, I was surprised at the small size for a quart size bottle. In fact I filled my old large quart-sized Stanley thermos and poured it into this thermos just to see if it did in fact hold as much. It did. I dont know how they acheive the great thermal insulation in such a small bottle but sure enough they do. On: 2008-01-31
One thing. It has a small opening. So I must use a large mouthed funnel to get my chili or soup inside. I bought this to take to the mtn when I snowboard. Not a hot liquid drinker. The ratings are accurate. Food poured out steaming sitting in my car below freezing for half a day.
Just use a little soap plus water and shake it to clean. I can reach the inside lip with a washcloth and my fingers. Some may prefer a long bottle cleaner, but the shake method works for me. On: 2008-01-29
I purchased this item from amazon from recommendations that were posted on the item.
I have not been disappointed in anyway.
The item has performed above my expectations and I would purchase it again
without hesitation

I originally bought this Thermos to save me money -- having coffee on hand prevents me from heading over to Starbucks or Peets -- and its worked beautifully for that.
It holds enough coffee to keep me going all day, and the coffee remains hot into the early evening.
The only real complaint I have about the Nissan Thermos is that it requires quite a bit of torque to get the screw-on lid tight enough to prevent leaking. Tight enough that my wife cant unscrew it. I guess if I was an alcoholic and was sneaking booze around in my Thermos that itd be an acceptable feature, but since my wife sometimes makes my coffee and would like to fill up my Thermos, having a leak-proof seal thats easier to open would be an improvement.
On: 2008-01-09
This is the best Thermos I have ever owned. It is built to last. This is the only one I have owned that did not leak around the top. There is no pour spout to flip open or plungers to push down thankfully. The inner cap provides a very solid seal. To pour, simply loosen the cap and my coffee pours from between the inner threads and the cap. This also helps preserve any heat from escaping. I think a proper seal helps to retain the heat just as much as the vacuum insulated body. Also, as I have already dropped mine several times onto pavement, this product stands up nicely to my abuse. A few minor dents and scratches but it did not affect the great job it does of keeping me with hot coffee all day long. Also, if I have any left for next morning, its still warm enough for me to have a cup and the coffee taste just as fresh as when I made it. The outer lid/cup also fits snuggly even after a couple of head first drops onto the pavement. Id buy one again if this one gets lost. On: 2008-01-09
Great Buy! I can pour my coffee in this at around 6:00 AM and each cup of coffee I have is piping hot - even until about 5:00 PM. Even after that the coffee is warm and drinkable. I love it! On: 2008-01-02
After 25 years of carrying thermoss this one does the job, keeps my coffee hot all day (not till just lunch). Ive dropped it on concrete lots of times, drove over it and basically beat it to death and it didnt fail me. I recently purchased 3 more, 1 for the mail person, and family members. If you want hot liquid not luke warm buy this one. On: 2007-12-21
I bought several thermos for Christmas presents, and besides being a great quality product, it turned out it was 4 for the price of 3. Great bargain. On: 2007-12-21
The Nissan Thermos, 34 ounce SS is an excellent product. It is well made and has a smart design. I started using it because of all the issues with re-using plastic bottles. What I like about the container is that it keeps the contents the same temperature for hours, whether cold or hot. I would highly recommend this product. I bought two of them, and have put cold water in them when Im working out in the yard. Totally excellent. On: 2007-12-18
I bought this thermos so i could bring hot coffee to work. I ride my bicycle to work year round and never had found a truly spill-proof solution so i didnt get coffee in my bag. Well, not i have. This thing has such an air tight seal. The other great thing is that it has a screw inner lid that you can just partially open to pour the coffee without letting the heat out.I also love the little cup that works as the lid so i dont have to have a separate cup anymore.I highly recommend this. On: 2007-12-08
Get this thermos! I bought it for my husband after reading reviews on Amazon. He has been searching for a thermos forever that really keeps things hot or cold. Even in a blistering hot car we had icy cold water all through the day without worrying about nasty plastic leaching into our water. The thermos works equally well for hot beverages. Weve owned it for almost a year now and are still amazed at how well it works. Its also really nice looking and slim enough to fit in the most finicky cup holders. On: 2007-11-11
Purchased this product about 2 months ago. Have used it extensively every day for coffee. It does what it says it does, and is, quite frankly, a very rugged product. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
On: 2007-11-08
This Thermos worked flawlessly! I filled it with hot (not boiling) chocolate at around 2:45pm and it sat in a cool car until I poured the hot cocoa at around 9pm in upper 40s/lower 50s temperatures outside. As far as I could tell, the temperature of the hot chocolate had not changed; it was still steaming hot! The Thermos was always cool to the touch on the outside. On: 2007-11-08
I purchased this product as it claimed to retain the heat of the fluid contained inside for a period of more than 10 hours. As instructed, prior to placing my coffee into the thermos, I fill it with hot water. After draining the hot water, I then fill it with the coffee and seal the thermos. As I leave my house very early each morning, I am filling the thermos with my coffee at 3:30 a.m. However, I do not actually pour my first cup of coffee until 7 a.m. While it is still warm, it is by no means as hot as the manufacturer claims that it should be. On: 2007-10-21
Not too bad although not the same workmanship that I had been accustomed to experience by previous Nissan products On: 2007-10-17
I figured out how much money I was spending stopping for coffee on the way to work in the morning and decided a thermos was the way to go so I could bring my coffee from home. I ordered the 34-ounce Nissan Thermos after reading the reviews and I am very happy with it, probably embarrassingly so given how excited I was when I got it. My coworkers now call it my magic thermos.
It keeps my coffee hot all day, even when I leave the pour spout unscrewed a little. The spout pours neatly and doesnt spill, which is much more than I can say for my Krups coffee decanter. When closed, everything is sealed tight. I can throw it in my messenger bag along with important papers and not worry at all that Im going to have spilled liquid on anything.
The design of the bottle is very nice- it is tall, sleek, and fits well in one hand. It isnt too heavy even when filled with liquid. It holds much more than it looks like it could hold given how portable it is.
The only thing that would make me like this thermos more is if this bottle came with an enamel/sleeve option so that I wasnt constantly wiping fingerprints off it. Thats just a product of stainless steel though, and not a defect. On: 2007-10-05
I got this thermos for my husband and he totally loved it. We have been looking for a good thermos: one that does not have plastic smell to it and one that can keep things hot. And this thermos is really good as its description. There is no plastic smell whatsoever. There is actually no smell at all. The exterior is really sleek and looks really nice. Also it can keep things hot. We tried leaving hot tea overnight and the next day, we still get hot tea out of the thermos. I would highly recommend this thermos. It is a bit more expensive than any other thermos (actually the most expensive that I have seen) but I think that it is worth the money. On: 2007-10-04

I have used my Nissan Thermos for 6 months and I couldnt be happier! It is so lightweight, yet sturdy! My last thermos would kill a small pet standing at your feet if you dropped it! Keeps things hot or cold and the top works flawlessly. On: 2007-08-21

Keeping my son hydrated while he sweats his way through 3 paper routes was our goal. This briefcase size thermos is a smaller than I thought it would be but keeps his water cold,is sturdy and looks great.
If I were to do it over again, Id buy the larger size. This really is made for coffee not quantities of water. We dont buy plastic bottled water but have an Aquafina filter, thus eliminating plastic polution and waste. Bottles like this are perfect to carry with you in your car. Our eventual goal is for me to use this bottle and buy the larger one for my son. On: 2007-06-14
Tried a number of el-cheapo Wally-Mart thermos. My coffee would be lukewarm at 9 and cold by lunch. After buying this thermos, I decided to test its efficiency at the end of the day by tasting the coffee straight out of the thermos and burnt my lips! Highly recommended. by: moon505 On: 2007-06-11

I recently purchsed this Thermos and I am very pleased with its performance and design. Its definitaly well built and is perfectly sized for my breifcase. I highly suggest people get this thermos if they enjoy having hot beverages all day long.
I highly suggest not buying this through Amazon directly, due to the fact that they take about a month or so to get it to you unless you dont mind the wait. by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-25
Why I waited this long to buy a good thermos, who knows/ But the wait was almost worth it. This is one good thermos--keeps hot things hot easily 24 hours. What a difference between this and the cheapos you can buy elsewhere. BTW, its very nice looking, so works well in the office. Sometimes I think I should have bought larger, or one with a handle, but all in all Im very pleased. by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-16
I left my tea in my office overnight (where it can get to be around 40 degrees), and in the morning, 28 hours after I had made the tea, it was still pleasantly warm. My coworker makes fun of me that I am in love with this thermos, I take it with me everywhere. Holds alot, but is still slim enough to tuck away in my purse. Switching between coffee and tea can be tricky, as the coffee taste stays behind in the plastic teacup, but this is true of any plastic cup. Highly recommended. by: stephie189 On: 2007-03-16
Stainless inside and out, wide enough of an opening for easy cleaning with a bottle brush, keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold for hours. What more can you ask of a thermos? Great product, great brand. by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-16
This Nissan Thermos works great to keep our twins milk cold all day. Although the Thermos has a large capacity, it is compact and therefore fits well under the stroller or in a tote bag. The Thermos has been dropped but shows no dents or scratches. A great buy! by: Anonymous On: 2007-03-15
I make hot tea every morning and 12 hours later it still comes out steaming. It seals tight and doesnt leak. It also has an incredibly easy pour mechanism that lets you keep the cap on and never spills a drop. I cant imagine my day without this. On: 2007-03-15

Sometimes I forget that I have coffee left over when I empty it out after work, and, 9 hours after I put it in there, its still steaming. I bought this thermos a month ago, the 34 oz one, and it has been excellent for my coffee, keeping it hot thoughout the day. It holds a little over two large cups and when I pour my afternoon cup of coffee it is still steaming. It saves me money and my own coffee is much better tasting than the coffee I would get at work at the cost of $1.15 a cup. Well worth it! On: 2007-02-14

We recently moved to the interior of Alaska for my husbands work. His old thermos, which previously did a great job, did not keep coffee warm at all. It has been 30 to 50 below zero outside (where he sometimes has to be for a few hours) and his coffee still stays warm. The other day, it was 40 below, and he forgot the thermos in his vehicle during work. When he brought it home, the outside was so cold, it burned my hand, but when he opened it up and poured the coffee, it was still warm. Amazing. Id definitely recommend this product. On: 2007-01-16

I bought two of these wonderful thermoses for my son and for my husband. They keep the coffee hot for hours and hours. We are very pleased with this product! by: Anonymous On: 2007-01-09
Keeps my coffee hot all day long. Love the design, having no handle makes it easier to fit in my bag. I will never buy a different brand of thermos. Well worth the money. They also make an excellent travel mug. by: Anonymous On: 2007-01-06
I just got this yesterday and I can tell you that my tea stayed hot all day! I use this to keep my tea hot while at home during the day, that way I dont waste the time and money of constantly making tea. One teabag while it steeps with honey and I have tea that is steaming hot. I never have to deal with tea going cold in my cup because I pour a bit at a time. Bravo! by: ivorycassiopeia On: 2007-01-05
My husband and I use these every day for work...I opened mine for the first time today around 10am to refill my travel mug, and I just opened it again at 5pm for another refill - coffee is still hot. Not warm...hot. We dont put milk or anything in them, just coffee - so not sure if that would change the temperature much. These are fantastic, though - I highly recommend. On: 2007-01-04

Bought my 2 nissans after the item said in stock and then received notice that it was 1 1/2 month delay. Actually had about 25 day delay. A bit surprising that they came in a plain white box and one had a noticiable ding in the cup. I dont think this happened in shipping based on the good packaging. The other I did not examine before giving as a Christmas gift. Happy enough that I didnt bother with a return. by: Anonymous On: 2006-11-07
My husband had a Thermos his Dad had used for years. When it broke he was heartbroken. One of the items I purchased for his birthday was this Nissan Thermos. I read your other reviews and thought this might be a good fit.
We are amazed at the heat retaining power this has. We dont use it a great deal but in a test run today the coffee stayed hot for over 8 hours!
AMAZING! Its sleek design and unbreakable inner liner also is worthy.
I am totally pleased with it. A great buy and cant wait to try something cold in it.

Im extremely pleased with this thermos, I roast my own coffee and was looking for a suitable container to transport it to the office so I could enjoy it all day.
The great reviews of this moddle sold me, and the price was not bad at all for the size.
The coffee from my presto coffee maker is served at about 190°F and even though brewed at 6:30AM the coffee is still steaming hot by noon.
Another thing of note is that the design of the lip does not allow the liquid to drip down the side when pouring, even if the lid is left on. If youve developed the habit as I have of placing a coaster out when you serve a bottle of wine, youll respect this thoughtful design touch.
Overall, its a fantastic container and fulfills its purpose simply and elegantly, its robust design assures me Ill be using it for decades.
I dont see it as a flaw, but there is no handle, and though it fits in my breifcase its not the most comfortable arrangement. Im wondering if someone hasnt designed a neoprene or canvas carrying strap...

This vacuum insulated bottle holds as much as an older model of the Nissan thermal carafe that has served me for many years. I love the fact that I can pack this bottle in my computer briefcase with room to spare. It keeps the coffee really hotfor an extended period of time, even if I didnt fill it entirely. by: dgpayne On: 2006-08-30
The search is over. Ive tried them all, and this thermos is by-far the best. No strain-filters to clog like that lipstick-contraption, no push-button spring-loaded stoppers to go bad, just pure-unadulterated pouring pleasure. Twist the top, doesnt even matter if you line up the pour arrows, it goes straight into the cup. Slender, fits in a backpack or briefcase. Holds eight cups of hot joe and keeps it that way for hours, aesthetically pleasing in a phallic kind of way. What more could we ask? Buy it. by: Anonymous On: 2006-08-19
My husband and I love our new thermos. Some days we whish we had two when we go our sperate ways. Our coffee stays hot for hours. When I leave for work in the morning I have to take my thermos of hot coffee to enjoy all day long.

I can make coffee at 7AM, have a cup at 9, one mid-afternoon, and by 7PM its still too hot to drink straight out of the bottle. Ive never tried anything cold, but Im sure the results would be comparable. Ive made morning coffee, filled the thermos, and forgot it at home while I went to work. The next morning out of necessity I had a cup. Still plenty warm to drink when theres nothing else.
The only issue I have with it is the shape, which I cant complain about because I saw the picture before I bought it. Its very smooth and will roll away if it tips over on the floor. Its a little difficult to hang onto if your hands are full, so you might consider a Nissan thermos with a handle if youre carrying a lot of things to school or work. by: edithannebaker On: 2006-08-07
Best thermos ever! My Husband Loves it. It keeps his coffee hot for hours and when he pours it into the little cap it cools just enough. It is totally worth the money, you will not buy another Thermos for years! by: jeffyoung70 On: 2006-06-23
I purchased this thermos three months ago as a solution to my coffee-stain problem.
As a teacher, I have very little time during the day to run to the "faculty lounge" to replenish my morning coffee or to catch an after-lunch pick-me-up. So, over the years, I developed the habit of driving to work with three full insulated coffee cups (with lids): two I placed in my cars cup-holders, the third I held in my hand as I drove. Not very smart. Invariably, I ended up wearing some of my coffee.
But those days are over.
This Nissan thermos solved my coffee-stain problem. But it did even more. It solved another problem I never knew I had.
I had become so accustomed to the lukewarm and cold coffee that my "three go-cup method" yielded that I had forgotten how good a hot cup of coffee is in the late morning or early afternoon. I no longer have that problem. This Nissan thermos keeps my coffee piping hot throughout the day and into the night.
It is durable. Tall and thin, it fits easily in a backpack or briefcase. The vacuum insulation keeps the coffee inside the thermos (preventing further coffee-stains!). It also cleans easily. I wash it by hand nightly, using an elongated bottle-brush with soft bristles to clean the interior.
Purchasing this thermos was a wise investment for me. I happily recommend it to those who are tired of coffee-stains on their clothes and old, cold coffee in their cups. by: airxson On: 2006-06-17
Ive been trying to find a thermos to meet my needs for quite a long time! This one is THE BEST, and well worth the money! I make my coffee in the morning, then add it to my thermos.....HOURS later it is STILL nice and hot! This keeps it fresh and waiting! I cant stand the taste of coffee after its been made and left sitting on the coffee pot burner for an hour or so...This thermos is by far the best Ive had so far! Spend a little extra to get the best! You always get what you pay for :) by: dikteren On: 2006-06-13
The Nissan Thermos FBB1000 is a sleek brushed stainless steel thermos with vacuum-sealed insulation and 875 mL storage capacity. The thermos exceeded my expectations on capacity to retain temperature of contents for extended periods of time.
After placing all 3 components in the freezer (-5 Celcius) for 10 minutes, I filled the thermos with 7 1-inch cylindrical ice cubes and immediately capped the thermos. It was placed in direct sunlight with daytime temperatures around 28 Celcius and nightime lows around 12 Celcius. After 48 hours, gentle shaking sounded like the contents remained frozen in ice. By day five, it remained mostly ice. Not until day 6.5 were the original ice cube contents in the thermos completely melted.
While I havent measured temperatures of hot liquids, the FBB1000 was able to retain the temperature of hot coffee for at least 12 hours.
My rating of five stars for the Nissan Thermos FBB1000 is primarily based on:
* Sleek design
* Durability/quality of materials & manufacturing
* Retains temperatures under extreme conditions for durations far exceeding product specifications by: mnmark On: 2006-03-24
For those of you who buy coffee all day at work, I implore you to look at this product. This leakproof (carried; no, bounced around in my *laptop* bag all day) container has served me well in the month that Ive owned it...and I reach for the thermos instead of going to whatever coffee shop I can find when the urge hits. This is a great addition to my life, and I strongly recommend this product. by: teoj On: 2006-03-22
Leave it to some engineers to produce one of the best products on the market. The Nissan Thermos is excellent. The high vacuum means that my coffee made today is still hot enough to drink tomorrow, no lie. In one case I made coffee on a friday morning, filled the thermos full, and forgot about it. I use a french press and always pour into the thermos after its made. Sunday morning when I went to make coffee, I realized that the thermos was still full. The coffee inside was still hot and almost as fresh as if I had just made it.
In my opinion, this high-vacuum thermos is the best on the market.
Another shock, the thermos came with a pamplet of plots and charts. They were temperature vs. time plots comparing their high vacuum to an unspecified lower vacuum and a non-vacuum insulated thermos. Being an engineer myself, I got a large kick out of this.
Only complaint: The rubber seal on the top is absorbant. Since the second use, the seal has smelled of old coffee. When I put tea in the thermos the next day it took on a hint of this smell. The seal is a vital component of the thermos, without which it leaks and does not hold heat as well.
It holds just over a half pot of coffee (6 cups, according to Cuisinart).
Overall, the Nissan Stainless Steel briefcase bottle is, without a doubt, my favorite purchase from Amazon.com. On: 2006-03-21

This thermos is great for taking coffee to work and saving the $2 a day! I am amazed by this simple product. As long as you "prime" it by putting hot water in it for about 5 mins before you add coffee, it keeps the liquid hot for about 10 hours! Seriously! I cant wait to try it with iced coffee this summer and see how long it keeps cold. It holds about 4 regular size cups of coffee and is very durable so far (3 months). by: pk72 On: 2006-03-12
I got this so that I wouldnt have to buy coffee at school on days when Im there from morning til night and need that afternoon hit. It keeps my coffee hot for about 12 hours (although it doesnt usually last that long!). It seems to keep it hotter longer when I fill it with hot water first, like others have said. It fits well in my backpack, which is the other reason I got it because I ride my bike to school so need something leak-proof. Its too tall to fit securely in the side mesh pockets (in my opinion), but I have a roomy backpack, so it slides in the main compartment really well. I hemmed and hawed a little about buying this, but the $$ Ive saved has already paid for it. I love my thermos! by: ocalaearl On: 2006-02-27
REVIEW OF:
NISSAN THERMOS FBB1000 34-OUNCE STAINLESS STEEL VACUUM
INSULATED BRIEFCASE BOTTLE
I LIKE IT. IT RARELY HAS A CHANCE TO COOL DOWN, HOLDING MY FAVORITE COFFEE DAY AND NIGHT. IT WEIGHS 15.0 OUNCES DRY WITH STOPPER. THE DIAMETER, 3.25 INCHES AT BOTTOM, TAPERS TO LESS THAN 3 INCHES MAKING IT EASY TO HOLD EVEN WITH NO HANDLE. TWIST AND POUR STOPPER IS CONVENIENT BUT SPLATTERS SOME. BLACK-ON-BLACK POUR ARROWS ARE DIFFICULT TO SEE (I PAINTED MINE WHITE). THE THERMAL EFFICIENCY IS GREAT. On: 2006-02-26

This is one great product. It is light-weight, a great size for one person and it keeps my beverages hot from early morning till evening. So much so, that I have to be careful not to burn my tongue, even after its been over 8 hours since I filled it up!
I just love it! On: 2006-02-17

Im rough on thermos bottles, but this unit so far has stood up to my (and my co-workers) worst abuse; dented, dinged and dropped, but still keeping my coffee hot all day. The slim design makes it easy to carry in my work bag, and the pour spout works well even under windy conditions. If it can survive a construction site and do this well, it must be a pretty good product for the price. If and when it gives up the ghost, Ill post an addendum to this review. On: 2006-01-06

I bought this thermos when I moved off campus. I now make my coffee when I leave my apartment in the morning (6 am) and pack it in this thermos so I dont have to run to the overpriced on-campus coffee shop. I work at my desk and attend class throughout the morning, always wanting a cup of coffee when Im at my desk. The coffee coming from this thermos through the early afternoon (when I stop drinking coffee) is so hot that I have to let it cool for seval minutes in my mug.
The other day I didnt make it back to my apartment until after 10 pm. When I dumped the remaining coffee out, it was still steaming hot.
My one complaint is the stainless steel exterior shows finger prints and what not unless you wipe it off frequently. Being a neat freak, I do.
Over all, I love it. by: tbluong On: 2005-09-03
I read the reviews from others before I bought this product. It is good as others said. The lotus tea was still hot after 12 hours (without opening). However, it could not keep the lotus flavor. That is the only problem. Otherwise, its perfect. by: goodcowfilms On: 2005-06-07
Lets start with the outside... its made of stainless steel, I can probably beat somebody with it and it wont make a dent, and its tall but compact. Its also made in Malaysia.
So, what do we have here? Its a very spacious, 34 ounce thermos. And boy does it work, and well! It was in the high 80s out today, and I filled my new thermos with organic apple juice. I put it in my messenger bag, and ran numerous errands all day in the heat, and with the bottle bouncing around inside the bag as I ran, walked, and climbed numerous steps into, and out of the subway.
The end result? 12 hours or so later, the apple juice is still cold! (whats left of it) And nothing leaked out, nope. You can tell the stopper and lid are meant to keep things (including the cold) inside.
So, to get to the liquid, first theres the main cap that you screw off. Below that layer is a plastic stopper, recycling code 05. Unscrew that, and ah, liquidy goodness!
The only thing that may be difficult is cleaning, as its a tall bottle, and hard to get into... my method thus far is dropping water and soap in it, covering it, and shaking it furiously like Im mixing a drink or something. This seems to work well. by: bradleyjones On: 2005-05-10
The instructions included with this thermos state: Always wash the bottle by hand. Dishwashers can damage it. by: benturnbull On: 2005-01-10
I make my tea early in the morning, pour it into this Nissan thermos, and 8 hours later my tea is still very hot. This thermos looks good, has convenient cork that unscrews just a little bit to pour out my drink, and it keeps my tea HOT for long long time. Pretty good for a thermos. by: Anonymous On: 2004-09-20
Very light, simple, keeps things hot very long. Does not leak, easy to pour without opening it completely. Easy to clean, looks very good. So far, Im very happy with it and recommended it to my friends. On: 2004-09-19
